Winter Storm Parking in Effect in Marion; No On-Street Parking from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory and is forecasting 3-5 inches of snow for Marion from Saturday into Sunday.

Winter Storm Parking will be in effect from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. This means parking on all City streets is prohibited. No on-street parking helps minimize the hazards associated with snow removal operations and provides residents with a more efficient response. Parking will not be restricted in the central business district/Uptown Marion during normal business hours.

For those unable to park on a hard surface area on their property, temporary parking is allowed at:

  • Lowe Park, 4500 N. 10th Street
  • Lowe Park Playground, 4401 Irish Drive
  • Taube Park, 2200 31st Street
  • Willowood Park, 1855 35th Street
  • Starry Park, 1480 Grand Avenue
