Application Period for Agriculture Innovation Grant Opens October 1

Application Period Ends October 31, 2025

FREDERICK, Md. - Frederick County's Office of Agriculture will accept applications for the Fall 2025 cycle of the Agriculture Innovation Grant Program from October 1 until October 31, 2025. This grant program is a competitive funding opportunity designed to help local agricultural operations grow, diversify, and thrive.

"Through this grant program, we're investing in the future of Frederick County's farming community," said County Executive Jessica Fitzwater. "These funds empower producers to innovate, adapt, and continue building a resilient agricultural economy."

Grants of $5,000 or more are available to a wide range of agricultural businesses, including crop and livestock producers, value-added producers, seafood processors, timber product processors, and agricultural cooperatives. Funding may be used for infrastructure, equipment, research and development, or processing facilities.

Applications are reviewed by a committee, which recommends award recipients to the County Executive for final approval. The program is highly competitive, and applicants are encouraged to submit strong, well-documented proposals.

Launched in 2021, the Agriculture Innovation Grant has awarded over $1.75 million to support 77 diverse agriculture projects across the county, helping to create more than 300 jobs and strengthen the long-term sustainability of the agricultural sector.
