Warren Calls on State Attorneys General to Release Transcript of Meeting with Donald Trump Jr on Prediction Markets

Washington, DC - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren, Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, released the following statement on new reporting about President Trump's son Donald Trump Jr.'s closed-door discussion about prediction markets with Republican state attorneys general:

"Behind closed doors, Donald Trump's son apparently suggested to Republican state attorneys general that they do not need to play a role in protecting consumers from getting ripped off in the prediction markets - all while he's reportedly being paid by or advising some of those same companies that are under the microscope. At the same time, Trump's Administration is letting insider trading on these platforms run wild.

"Right now, dozens of states across the country have raised concerns that these platforms could be preying on their citizens. The tens of millions of Americans represented by these Republican attorneys general deserve to know if the cops on the beat will serve their interests, or have instead quietly promised to serve the interests of the Trump family. It's time for the Republican State Attorneys General Association to release the transcript of this meeting."
