Marsh appoints Andy Start CBE as Senior Advisor

Marsh (NYSE: MRSH), a leading global professional services firm, today announced the appointment of Andy Start CBE as Senior Advisor to the business, effective immediately.

Based in London, Mr. Start will advise Marsh's international businesses and global clients on strategy execution, risk and opportunity assessment, and leadership development. Drawing on his substantial leadership experience, he will provide independent counsel to senior leaders and clients as they make complex decisions across markets.

Mr. Start brings extensive international leadership and industry experience spanning the aerospace, space and defense sectors. Most recently, he served as CEO of Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) from September 2022 to April 2026. During this period, he also served on the UK MOD Board and as the UK's National Armaments Director. In this capacity, he oversaw the establishment of the National Armaments Director Group, bringing together defense equipment, digital and infrastructure functions to strengthen industry collaboration and strategic coordination. Mr. Start was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2026 King's Birthday Honours List.

Prior to joining the UK Civil Service, Mr. Start held CEO, President and Vice President roles within divisions of global aerospace, space and defense companies, developing deep expertise in strategy, transformation, complex supply chains and international operations. He is also Honorary Colonel of the 106th (Yeomanry) Regiment Royal Artillery, a Fellow of both the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Royal Aeronautical Society, and sits on the strategic advisory board of Women in Defence.
