RE: Tri-Union Seafoods Identifies Additional Quantities of Recalled Genova® Tuna

Amador County, Calif. - Tri-Union Seafoods has cautioned consumers that certain Genova® Yellowfin Tuna products previously subject to a voluntary recall were unintentionally distributed to limited retail locations. The company first initiated a recall in February 2025 after being notified by its supplier of a manufacturing defect in the "easy open" pull-tab lid potentially allowing contamination with Clostridium botulinum, the bacterium that causes botulism - a serious and potentially fatal form of foodborne illness.

Voluntary Recall Information | Genova Seafood
Consumer Safety Information: Consumers should not eat the recalled products, even if they appear normal and undamaged. Clostridium botulinum toxins are odorless and tasteless, and consuming contaminated food can lead to serious health effects. Anyone who has consumed these products and is feeling ill should seek immediate medical attention.
What Consumers Should Do:
•Return the recalled product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
•Dispose of the product safely.
•Contact Tri-Union Seafoods for a product retrieval kit and a replacement coupon by calling 833-374-0171 (Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. PST) or emailing [email protected].

Check your pantry and do not use any tuna with product numbers listed on the Genova website from either the original or the additional recall.
