Applications open for the 3rd Tourism Innovation and Sustainability Journey in Brumadinho

Tourism businesses in Brumadinho can now register for the 3rd Tourism Innovation and Sustainability Journey, an initiative that will select up to 45 businesses to take part in a qualification process, specialized technical advisory support and follow-up aimed at strengthening management, driving innovation and adopting sustainable practices. Applications are open until August 25 via the link: https://forms.gle/QAQCyb5AbLkucUPr7

Businesses eligible to participate include those in the segments of lodging, food service, tourism agencies and guides, tourist attractions, and Tourism-Associated Production initiatives, such as producers of sweets, jams and cheeses and other products who already receive tourists. The goal is to strengthen the local tourism value chain, contributing to the sustainable development of the destination and increasing the competitiveness of businesses.

Training
Selected businesses will take part in a training and development journey, with activities including individual technical advisory sessions, specialized follow-up, indicator monitoring and actions aimed at improving management and the tourist experience.

To guide planning and track participants' progress, the program will use the "Teia do Turismo Sustentável" (Sustainable Tourism Web), a tool developed exclusively for the Brumadinho Program that takes into account economic, social and environmental indicators, allowing for the creation of personalized action plans tailored to each business's needs.

"This third edition of the Journey represents another step forward in strengthening Brumadinho's tourism businesses. Our goal is to support the sector in adopting more sustainable practices, improving management and driving innovation in its products and services, contributing to tourism that is increasingly qualified, competitive and capable of generating opportunities for the community," explained Daniele Teixeira, Sustainability Analyst at Vale and coordinator of the Tourism Program.

Innovation and sustainability
The Journey is part of the Brumadinho Tourism Program, a Vale initiative carried out by Rede Terra. The program is part of the company's efforts to support the economic diversification of the municipality, valuing tourism as a natural and strategic vocation for the city in generating jobs, income and sustainable development. The actions are carried out in partnership with the community and the municipality's tourism sector.

The first Journey took place between September 2024 and August 2025, focusing mainly on lodging businesses. In the second phase, which is now wrapping up, the priority was the food-service-away-from-home sector and lodging. In this third phase, scheduled to run until August 2027, tourism agencies and guides, tour operators and Tourism-Associated Production initiatives were added, though lodging and food-service businesses may also participate.
