LATAM Airlines Peru and UNESCO Peru welcome the first Amazonian women’s association to the Segundo Vuelo circular economy program

With the addition of Fibra y Arte del Marañón, Segundo Vuelo now brings together four beneficiary associations: the artisans of Sunqu Suwa in Ayacucho, the SISAN - Pachacamac Museum Artisans' Association, and the San Miguel Arcángel Association in Cajamarca.

By the end of 2024, the airline had donated more than 35,000 disused garments and 900 kilograms of seat covers to craft communities, enabling the production of over 15,000 unique items that reflect the identity and culture of their regions.

Through this initiative, LATAM Airlines Peru reaffirms its commitment to promoting sustainability and revaluing local artisanal talent-giving a second life to materials, and a new opportunity to communities striving for responsible, inclusive development.

Likewise, through this partnership, LATAM Airlines Peru and UNESCO Peru demonstrate how strategic collaboration can generate tangible impact in communities-strengthening women's leadership, environmental sustainability, and the safeguarding of cultural heritage.
