The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department is teeing up for a great cause and looking for golfers to hit the course for its annual MDA Golf Tournament, benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

This year's tournament will take place Friday, October 16, at Bowden Golf Course (3111 Millerfield Road). Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., with tee time at 8:30 a.m.

"This tournament gives us a chance to come together, have a good time, and support families who are facing incredibly difficult challenges," says Fire Chief Shane Edwards. "Our firefighters have a long history of supporting MDA, and we're asking our community to help us make this year's tournament another successful one."

Registration is $85 per player and includes two mulligans and one red bomber. Lunch will also be provided. Golfers will compete for cash prizes for first, second, and third place, and participants can take part in a silent auction throughout the event.

Businesses and organizations can also support the tournament through several sponsorship opportunities:

  • $250: Hole Sponsor, includes signage
  • $500: Hole Sponsor, includes signage and a team
  • $1,500: Lunch Sponsor, includes signage and a team

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit MDA and its work supporting individuals and families impacted by muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular diseases.

Whether you're competing for first place, sponsoring a hole, or simply coming out to support the cause, the Fire Department hopes the community will help make this year's tournament a success.
