On 10 June 2026, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, met with Pol.Gen. Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, Deputy Police Commissioner General, Royal Thai Police, to discuss cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Thai Police in the prevention and combating online scams.

Both sides exchanged views on the situation and trends of online scams in the region and the importance of strengthening international cooperation to combat online scams and protect victims. The Deputy Police Commissioner General briefed about SHIELD (Scam & Human Trafficking Information Exchange and Linked Database), a system developed by the Royal Thai Police to serve as a centralized database for law enforcement agencies of member countries to share and utilize information, with the aim of facilitating timely and effective efforts to prevent and suppress online scams.
