Cary, NC - Wheels on Academy, Cary's annual car show, takes place May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Town Hall Campus on N. Academy Street. This event celebrates vehicles of all makes, models, and years. Award categories include a Best in Show and Top 30 judged by decade, with at least one award per decade represented. In addition to kid-friendly activities, live music will be provided by Vertigo, a rock'n'roll cover band, and food and drinks will be available from Craft Public House, Death by Taco, and Frios Raleigh. While early registration is closed, day-of registration will be available on-site the morning of the event, space permitting.

N. Academy Street will be closed from Chapel Hill Road to the train tracks, along with portions of Wilkinson Avenue and Ambassador Loop, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Town Hall Parking Deck and surface lot will remain accessible via the open portions of Wilkinson Avenue and Ambassador Loop.

Cary offers nearly 2,000 free downtown parking spaces, including four parking decks. The GoCary bus depot is directly across the train tracks from the event, and riders can take any GoCary route to reach downtown Cary, just steps from Wheels on Academy.

The GoCary Downtown Loop will detour from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 16, and the Town Hall Parking Deck bus stop will be closed. Riders should use the temporary stop at Cary Depot North Platform. Plan your trip at GoCary.org or on the GoCary app.
