Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin Meets with Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu

On March 24, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin met with Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu.

Liu Bin stated that China supports the UN in playing an important role in global affairs. China stands ready to work with the UN to advance the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping, jointly strengthen multilateralism, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

Izumi Nakamitsu appreciates China's contributions to advancing international arms control and non-proliferation processes and to the political settlement of regional hotspot issues. She expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with China and jointly address challenges in the field of international security.
