Milling and Resurfacing on Route 487 in Southbury and Oxford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 487 in Southbury and Oxford. This project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, September 1 and be completed on Friday, September 18, 2026. The project 0174-0488CN "HH" consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.24-mile segment of Route 487 in Southbury and Oxford from Kettletown State Park to Route 67. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Black and Boucher on Tuesday, September 1 to Wednesday, September 2, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by O&G Industries is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, September 8 to Friday, September 18, 2026.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 487 from Kettletown State Park to Route 67. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
