Today (4.10), "6 7" rapper Skrilla teamed up with YoungBoy Never Broke Again for the release of his single "Free 40" via Capitol Records/Priority Records. The track is the newest release from Skrilla's forthcoming album Z, dropping this spring.

Dark, urgent, and emotionally charged, "Free 40" finds Skrilla and NBA YoungBoy in lockstep, delivering a record that is immediate and uncompromising from start to finish.

NBA YoungBoy's support for Skrilla has been building for some time. Most notably, he brought Skrilla out for a performance during his sold-out arena show in Philadelphia this past fall, further solidifying the connection between the two artists.

"Free 40" follows "Roger Dat" and "Bazin" continuing the rollout for Z, a project that marks a major turning point for the Philly native. Signaling both an ending and a beginning, the album captures the close of Skrilla's drug-fueled underground chapter and the arrival of a more focused, refined, and fully realized artist with mainstream reach and superstar potential. Rather than turning his back on his roots, Skrilla builds on them, channeling lived experience into clarity, purpose, and ambition.

With this next era, Skrilla turns momentum into mission, staking his claim not only as a viral breakout, but as an artist built for the long haul.

About Skrilla:

At the center of the cultural wave "6 7" is Skrilla, the Philly native whose viral "Doot Doot (6 7)" has evolved from an underground release into one of 2025's defining anthems - with Dictionary.com even crowning "6 7" 2025's Word of the Year. From NBA and NFL highlight reels to TikTok feeds and classrooms across the country, the "6 7" chant has truly been cemented as part of the cultural lexicon. Celebrities from Kim Kardashian to Natasha Bedingfield have joined the trend, and it has been featured in conversation on The Today Show, Live with Kelly and Mark and even South Park - which devoted an entire episode to the phenomenon. Gearing up to release a new project, 2026 is shaping up to be Skrilla's biggest year yet.
