Oregon Reopens Solar and Storage Rebate Program with $1.1 Million in Available Funding

The Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) announced that it will reopen the state's solar and storage rebate program on June 15, 2026, with $1.1 million in newly available funding to support residential solar, battery storage, and projects serving low-income communities.

Under the renewed funding round, eligible homeowners may receive rebates of up to $5,000 for solar installations and up to $2,500 for paired energy storage systems. Low-income service providers, including nonprofits, municipalities, and organizations serving low-income Oregonians, may qualify for rebates of up to $30,000. Rebates are delivered through approved contractors and applied as upfront savings for participating customers.

The one-time funding opportunity is made possible through administrative savings and previously canceled or incomplete projects from earlier funding rounds. The rebate program, originally established by the Oregon Legislature in 2019, has already distributed more than $23.5 million to help expand access to clean energy technologies across the state.

ODOE is also accepting new contractor registrations for the program ahead of the June launch (previously approved contractors do not need to re-register). Additional information for homeowners, contractors, and service providers is available on ODOE's solar and storage rebate program webpage.
