Tenth Avenue North Led by Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumnus Mike Donehey to Perform During Homecoming and Family Weekend

The three-time Dove Award-winning band will return to campus where it all began.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 22, 2026) - Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) will welcome alumni, families, students, and friends to campus for Homecoming and Family Weekend, culminating in a special concert featuring Christian rock band Tenth Avenue North.

The award-winning band was formed in 2000 while three of the members attended PBA-even naming the group after a Palm Beach County road. Lead singer and co-founder Mike Donehey '03 will perform on Friday, Feb. 6 (6 to 9 p.m.) in the PBA Rubin Arena/Greene Complex. The concert is open to the public.

"Homecoming and Family Weekend is a time to come back, reconnect with other alumni, and remember what God has done through this University," said PBA President Dr. Debra A. Schwinn. "We look forward to welcoming alumni, families, and visitors to experience the heart of the Sailfish community through shared traditions, our Christ-first foundation, and a time of inspiring music and worship led by Tenth Avenue North."

One of the traditions that influenced Donehey's approach to music during his freshman year at PBA was Thursday Night Live, a student-led worship night now known as Anchor Worship. He reflected on this experience in his book, "Finding God's Life for My Will."

"It was in the midst of enjoying God for God alone that I began to grow in what… I like to call worship facilitating," he wrote. "I truly believe that if I hadn't spent this simple time worshipping God for Himself, I would never have become any good at helping others worship Him."

Donehey went from leading worship on PBA's campus to leading Tenth Avenue North. The group later signed a record deal with Reunion Records. To date, the group has released over 10 full-length albums and several EPs. The concert will be a highlight of Homecoming and Family Weekend, which will also include a sightseeing cruise on the Intracoastal Waterway, a Founder's Day Chapel service, a community service project of planting 100 trees, an opportunity to cheer on fellow Sailfish during an evening baseball game, Sunday brunch, a basketball tournament, and more.

"Homecoming is the perfect time for PBA alumni to reconnect with former classmates and see the incredible work God is doing to grow the University," said Jessica Moody Bruce, PBA Alumni Association president and granddaughter of the school's founder. "The focus of the Alumni Association is to glorify God, connect alumni, and serve students, and we can't wait to ignite some Sailfish spirt on campus during Family Weekend."

Homecoming and Family Weekend takes place Feb. 5-8, 2026, at PBA's downtown West Palm Beach campus. The Tenth Avenue North concert is open to the public. Tickets are $25 each for general admission.
