Volaris Announces New Flights from Denver International Airport to Querétaro, Mexico

Twice-weekly flights to begin on June 3, 2026

DENVER - Feb. 3, 2026 - Today, Mexico-based Volaris announced new flights between Denver International Airport (DEN) and Querétaro Intercontinental Airport (QRO) in Querétaro, Mexico. QRO is a brand-new destination for DEN, and the fourth destination served nonstop by Volaris from DEN.

"We are pleased that Volaris will continue to invest in Denver with the addition of new flights to Querétaro," DEN CEO Phil Washington said. "Every new destination provides more opportunities for commercial and cultural exchange and furthers our efforts to expand Denver's global connectivity."

Flights are scheduled to begin on June 3, 2026, and will operate two days per week, year-round. The addition of QRO will bring the total number of nonstop destinations in Mexico served from DEN to nine, and the total number of DEN nonstop international destinations to 35, the most in DEN history.

"The launch of nonstop service between Denver and Querétaro underscores Volaris' commitment to expanding affordable connectivity between key regions in the United States and Mexico," said Enrique Beltranena, President and Chief Executive Officer of Volaris. "Querétaro is a rapidly growing economic and cultural hub, and this new route offers travelers a convenient, low-fare option to connect two dynamic markets with strong and increasing demand."

Situated in central Mexico, north of the capital region, Querétaro was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996 due to its well-preserved historic center. Combining a unique mix of cultural heritage and natural beauty, the area is also home to San Miguel de Allende, a city known globally as a hub for art and creativity. In 2025, demand for travel between DEN and QRO totaled more than 35 passengers per day, an increase of nearly 20% over 2024, significantly outpacing overall DEN-Mexico annual demand growth of 5%.

"The addition of nonstop service between Denver and Querétaro reinforces Denver International Airport's role as a key gateway between the United States and Mexico," said Pavel Melendez Cruz, Consul General of Mexico based in Denver. "This new route strengthens the profound, and clearly mutually beneficial partnership between our countries, one that comprises, among others, deep economic, cultural and personal connections. We recognize that Volaris' continued investment in connectivity benefits both regions."

Volaris first inaugurated flights between DEN and Mexico City (MEX) in 2012 and added flights to Chihuahua (CUU) and Guadalajara (GDL) in 2014.
