The Brazilian Government condemns the continuing Israeli attacks against civilian areas in Beirut, southern Lebanon, and in the Beqaa Valley. These attacks, combined with Israeli evacuation orders, are causing deaths and the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Lebanese civilians. Brazil urges Israel to respect Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Brazil expresses its support for the Lebanese Government in its efforts to exercise full sovereignty over its territory and to ensure the exclusive authority to use force throughout the country. Brazil also condemns the launching of rockets by Hezbollah from Lebanon against Israeli territory.
In this context, Brazil reiterates its call to the parties involved to immediately cease the attacks and to fully comply with the terms of the Ceasefire Agreement of November 27, 2024, and with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 (2006).
Brazil also condemns the attack against UNIFIL's Ghana battalion on March 6, 2026, injuring four peacekeepers, to whom it expresses solidarity and wishes a quick recovery.
Deliberate attacks against members of peacekeeping missions and UN facilities are unacceptable and constitute a serious violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
