Broome County Highway Work Planned for Week of 9/8

(BROOME COUNTY, NY) - The following work is scheduled on Broome County roadways beginning Monday, September 8th.

  • Paving on Hale Eddy - River Road, County Route 249 (from Oquaga Lake Road to Pennsylvania Line)
  • Cleaning ditches and rebuilding shoulders on East Maine Road, Hyde Street, Broome County Airport Road, Stratmill Road, North Road & Trim Street
  • Culvert work on Broome County Airport Road, Hyde Street, Stratmill Road & Trim Street
  • Grader patching on Dunham Hill Road
  • Bank stabilization/shoulder work on Old Route 17 in Sanford
  • Mowing right of way on several county roads
  • Painting on various county roads

Motorists are reminded to use caution in work zones, even when they are not active as some may be modified as constructions progresses. Slowing down is always the most effective way to keep yourself and workers safe. You may also want to give yourself extra time during commutes to accommodate for any detours or change in traffic patterns.
