ITS Front Office transitions to appointment-based

UAA Information Technology Services (ITS) is announcing a change to the services available at its front office in the Social Sciences Building, Room 120. Effective July 20, 2026, the ITS front office will no longer offer walk-in technical support.

Effective July 20, 2026, the ITS front office will no longer offer walk-in technical support. Instead, in-person visits will be reserved exclusively for scheduled equipment drop-off/pick-up appointments.

This transition reflects the realities of maintaining consistent front-office staffing and allows ITS to direct its team resources toward delivering faster, higher-quality support across other service channels.

How to get technical support

The Technical Support Center remains the primary point of contact for all general IT issues and inquiries and is available through multiple channels:

Scheduling an equipment appointment

Appointments are required for all equipment drop-offs and pick-ups at the ITS front office in SSB 120. Slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be booked directly through the UAA IT Services Appointment Calendar which you will receive if you open a ticket with ITS requiring an appointment.

When booking, please include your IT Services ticket number in the appointment details. A ticket number is assigned when you first contact the Technical Support Center about your issue - it helps our team pull up your case quickly and get you in and out efficiently.

The SSB 120 front office is available Monday 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday 2 p.m.-4 p.m., and Friday 2 p.m.-4 p.m. for scheduled visits. If you have questions about your ticket or need to speak with someone before your appointment, call the Technical Support Center at 907-786-4646 or reply to your support email.
