NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (April 25, 2026) - Friday, the City of New Brunswick commemorated a defining milestone in its history as it kicked off the countdown to the 100th anniversary of City Hall. A special gathering at 78 Bayard St. honored the anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone, which took place on April 25, 1926.
This ceremony celebrated the creation of the City's very first purpose-built municipal building. Before its construction, New Brunswick's government operations were scattered across various temporary locations, including local firehouses and the county courthouse.
