Illinois students and schools, both public and private, can benefit from the new federal tax credit scholarship program. The program is funded entirely through a federal tax credit; and the framework allows for donations to support tutoring, after-school programs, and other educational expenses for public school families.
Every state has the opportunity to opt in to be a part of this program, which means the decision in Illinois belongs to Governor Pritzker.
This is a no-brainer, Governor. Politics or disagreements with the federal government should have no bearing on whether or not to allow our students access to free, professional help for their education. We're talking about the potential for hundreds of millions of dollars in tutoring and academic support that could be available to help our children, in both public and private schools!
How can anything be more important than our children and their futures, Governor Pritzker? Please opt in to this program that could benefit thousands of Illinois children and their families.
