KEF Chairman delivered speech, representing Korean Employers and Business, at the 114th ILO Conference

On June 10, Korea Enterprises Federation (KEF) Chairman Sohn Kyung-shik, representing Korean employers and business, delivered a speech at the 114th International Labor Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

In his speech, Chairman Sohn noted that "The global economy is facing growing uncertainties, driven by geopolitical risks, high oil prices, and the restructuring of global supply chains," while "AI is bringing about transformative social and economic changes, which are reshaping our lives and works."

He added that "at the critical juncture of introducing AI, we must cultivate an environment for robust entrepreneurship for AI innovation."<_o3a_p>


Chairman Sohn also called for joined efforts to facilitate a successful AI transition where both companies and workers can adapt. To ensure this, he stressed that "proactive policies for AI transition such as AI infrastructure investment and enhanced vocational training must be put in place."

Following the ILO conference, Chairman Sohn visited Germany from June 11 to 12 with representatives from labor and government, along with lawmakers of the National Assembly to explore tripartite cooperation on industrial transition.
