Calgon Carbon Corporation ("Calgon Carbon"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuraray Co., Ltd. (TYO: 3405), today announced a global price increase of up to 25% on activated carbon products, reactivation services, and related equipment. The increase is effective September 1, 2026, where contracts permit, and will vary depending on the specific product, raw material type, and services provided.

Calgon Carbon continues to invest in the reliability, capacity, and quality of its global manufacturing and reactivation network. These investments ensure customers have dependable access to high-performance activated carbon products and services as demand continues to grow.

At the same time, the cost of operating and maintaining that network has risen significantly and steadily. Plant maintenance expenses, labor costs, energy costs, and the cost of coal, coconut, steel and other raw materials have all increased over a sustained period. Calgon Carbon has worked to offset these pressures through operational efficiencies and internal cost absorption. This adjustment reflects the portion of those increases the company can no longer absorb while maintaining the levels of quality, service, and supply reliability its customers expect.

"Our customers depend on us for consistent quality and reliable supply, and we take that responsibility seriously," said Steve Schott, President and CEO of Calgon Carbon. "We have absorbed rising costs across our operations for as long as possible while continuing to invest in the capacity and reliability our customers require. This adjustment allows us to keep delivering on those commitments."

The impact of the increase will vary by customer, and Calgon Carbon account managers will communicate specific pricing adjustments directly.
