New Reporting Spotlights Republican Marx’s Extremism on Abortion: An “Occultic Activity”

DENVER - Today a new report put the spotlight back on Republican Victor Marx's extremism on abortion, including his repeated references to Colorado's constitutional abortion protections as demonic. Marx has called abortion an "occultic activity" and a "manifestation of evil" repeatedly during the campaign.

As American Journal News reported today, "Marx frequently discusses abortion in religious terms," and makes clear that his running mate's pledge to roll back the state's abortion freedoms is part and parcel of Marx's mission to "consecrate the state of Colorado back to God" if elected.

Marx has long touted his experience as a onetime assistant to the founder of Focus on the Family, an anti-abortion organization previously designated as a national hate group. Marx even said "we've been doing this for 20 years" to boost his credibility when campaigning on his hostility to abortion protections. Over the years many Coloradans have experienced repeated violence and threatening harassment for exercising their right to an abortion - including a fatal shooting at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood.

"Victor Marx's demonization of abortion - even literally - will not be tolerated in Colorado. Voters have been incredibly clear that they support these freedoms for decades," said CDP spokesperson Kailee Stiles. "His vicious, reckless attacks on our rights makes it even more obvious that Marx is the wrong choice for Colorado's future."
