Kristen Edgreen Kaufman alongside other leaders of the 114th International Labour Conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
This year's International Labour Conference (ILC) of the International Labour Organization (ILO) focused on platform work, gender equality, and social dialogue. The Conference is the annual international parliament of labor where governments, employers, and workers share an equal voice, discuss labor policies, and negotiate binding international labor standards.
Kristen Edgreen Kaufman, Senior Vice President, Global Impact Initiatives at USCIB, served as the Employer Vice President to the Conference, overseeing the plenary convenings and ensuring strong diplomatic leadership over the conference, working closely with the ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo.
"The ILC is the only multilateral forum where businesses have a constitutional right to participate, negotiate, and vote. This year's conference underscored policies for an enabling environment for business, while delegates also emphasized the importance of increasing investment in skills development to help workers adapt and thrive in the age of AI," Kaufman stated.
USCIB's Employer Delegation included companies from several sectors and was one of the largest ones in history. US business continues to play an important role in shaping labor policies and the future of work.
The ILC adopted a new international labor standard on platform work, in addition to policy conclusions on social dialogue and gender equality. Thousands of attendees from all regions attended the conference, the world's largest convening on labor policies.
