The university was placed tenth out of 100 institutions for employability, in the 2027 Uni Compare rankings.
The ratings, voted on entirely by students, placed DMU as the 19th best institution nationwide, showing sizable improvements in every single category compared to last year, with stronger ratings in categories like accommodation, course quality and student life.
The rankings are compiled from more than 176,000 verified reviews and ratings from current and past students. DMU's rise of 23 places in the overall table places it firmly in the top 20 nationally for the first time, while a 45-place climb into the top 10 for employability represents one of the most significant improvements of any UK university in that category.
DMU also entered the top 20 nationally for student life, rising to 20th in the country.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Katie Normington said: "To break into the top 20 overall, and in particular to be so well regarded by students for helping them get the jobs they want, is a remarkable achievement.
"These rankings are based entirely on student experience, which makes them particularly meaningful. Employers, students and families want to know that a degree from DMU will genuinely open doors. This confirms that it does."
The Uni Compare results add to a strong run of league table recognition for DMU this summer. In May, the university was rated among the top 20 in the country in the Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs), placing 17th overall, a rise of 18 places, and also finishing 20th for student life and fifth nationally for postgraduate experience.
In June, DMU climbed twelve places in the Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR), cementing its position in the top seven per cent of universities globally and placing 76th in the UK out of 21,291 institutions assessed.
The employability picture has been further underlined by the latest graduate outcomes data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency, which showed that DMU's psychology graduates are the most likely of any UK university - among institutions with a sizeable cohort - to have found employment after finishing their studies. Overall, 73% of DMU graduates entering the UK workforce moved into highly skilled roles, with 87% reporting that their work was meaningful.
