Denver - Thursday, December 4, 2025 - Today, the Denver Police Department announces the arrest of a DPD officer in Arvada last evening. Denver Police Officer Cody Haggard was arrested for investigation of simple assault, related to a domestic disturbance.
Haggard joined DPD in 2024 and was most recently assigned to District Four patrol. Due to the offense being a misdemeanor, Haggard was placed in an off-line assignment and will remain in that role while the case makes its way through the judicial process.
The Denver Police Department's administrative review of this incident will begin once the criminal case is adjudicated, and that process includes the Denver Department of Safety and the Office of the Independent Monitor, a civilian oversight agency. Since the criminal investigation is being conducted by the Arvada Police Department, DPD is unable to comment further on the case.
The Denver Police Department is committed to transparency and accountability. When a Denver Police officer is arrested, DPD works to proactively share information in a timely manner, when possible. As with all arrests, the suspect is innocent until proven guilty.
