RNs at Rush University Medical Center to hold press conference tomorrow

Registered nurses at Rush University Medical Center (Rush) in Chicago, Ill., will hold a press conference on Thursday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m., to announce filing a petition on April 8 with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for a union election, announced National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United (NNOC/NNU) today. NNOC is an affiliate of NNU, the largest and fastest-growing union and professional association of registered nurses in the country.

This is Chicago's largest filing on record for a union election in the health care sector, and one of the largest in any industry in the city.

"We are proud to work at Rush and give our patients excellent care," said Dan Hurowitz, RN in general medicine at Rush. "We know that by forming a union with National Nurses Organizing Committee, we can do even better for our patients."
