H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, participated as a panel speaker at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2025 (ABIS) on the afternoon of 26 October 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The session was held under the theme "Empowering ASEAN's MSMEs to Thrive in the Digital Economy."

The forum brought together expert speakers, including senior leaders from major global technology companies such as Google and TikTok, to discuss solutions to the barriers preventing MSMEs from fully participating in the digital economy, explore policy and platform innovations to expand MSMEs' access to digital tools, emphasize the importance of regional cooperation, and examine the role of financial institutions and the private sector in empowering MSMEs.

During the discussion, H.E. Dr. Chea Serey highlighted Cambodia's progress in digital finance, particularly the implementation of the Bakong digital payment system, and its impact in supporting the growth of small and medium enterprises. She also emphasized the significance of regional payment connectivity in facilitating cross-border trade, reducing the digital divide, and promoting financial inclusion across the region.

The ASEAN Business and Investment Summit is an annual regional forum held alongside the ASEAN Summit, bringing together heads of state, business leaders, and entrepreneurs from ASEAN and partner countries to discuss key economic and investment issues in the region.
