Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has directed that all flags at City facilities be lowered to half-staff to coincide with Governor Bob Ferguson's directive that state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered on Friday, Sept. 11, for Patriot Day, the annual memorial of the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
"Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks," said Brown. "We remember the lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the resilience of a nation forever changed."
Flags should remain at half-staff until the close of business or sunset on Friday. Other government entities, citizens, and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
