Sept. 25, 2025 - Southeastern Colorado - Motorists will be required to use CO 47 to detour on Oct. 10

Pueblo - To advance and facilitate the construction of the Interstate 25 and US Highway 50B Interchange, a long-term closure of two ramps on southbound I-25 is required. Beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct.10, the Colorado Department of Transportation and its contract partner, SEMA Construction, will close the southbound I-25 off-ramp to eastbound US 50B and the westbound US 50B on-ramp to southbound I-25. These ramps and the US 50B structure over I-25 will be demolished and access to southbound I-25 from US 50B and eastbound US 50B from I-25 will return with substantial completion of the interchange project.

Traffic Impacts

Beginning at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct.10, the southbound I-25 off-ramp to eastbound US 50B and the westbound US 50B on-ramp to southbound I-25 will close:

• Motorists will be detoured to Colorado Highway 47 to access eastbound US 50B and southbound I-25. Access to and from northbound I-25 will be maintained.

Westbound US 50B on-ramp to Southbound I-25 detour map. Motorists traveling westbound on US 50B should use CO 47 (Exit 318) to access southbound I-25. Southbound I-25 off-ramp to eastbound US 50B detour map. Motorists traveling southbound on I-25 should use CO 47 (Exit 101) to access eastbound US 50B.

Project Information

Work on the $114 million I-25/US 50B Interchange project began in December 2024. During construction, crews will build five new bridge structures, retaining and noise walls, roadway and ramp reconstruction, embankment, safety improvements, drainage and erosion control. Once complete, the interchange will be located just north of the current interchange and will operate as a diverging diamond interchange to improve drivability and provide safer driving conditions for motorists. The project is scheduled for completion in early summer 2027.

• Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
• Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
• Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
• Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
• Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
• Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
• Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
• Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
• Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
• Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
• Be patient!
