Construction Update for Gold Country Corridor

Placer/Nevada Counties - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane closures in multiple locations along State Route 49 (SR 49) and State Route 20 (SR 20) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.

Here is the breakdown for next week:

SR 20 Projects:

  • Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Conservation Road and Skillman Campground, one-way traffic control is scheduled around the clock from 7 p.m. Sunday, June 28 through 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 1 for paving operations. No work is scheduled over the holiday weekend.
  • Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project
    • One-way traffic control is scheduled at the junction with Interstate 80 (I-80) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 28 through Wednesday, July 1. Work is also scheduled from 6 a.m. until noon on Thursday, July 2. During operations, traffic may be held for up to 30 minutes.
    • The SR 20 on-ramp to westbound I-80 remains closed until further notice due to bridge construction activities.

SR 49 Projects:

  • Sidewalk Gap Closure Project, northbound along SR 49 between Education Street and Dry Creek Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 6 p.m. Sunday, June 28 to 7 a.m. Monday, June 29 and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 1. Work is also scheduled from 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 1 through Thursday, July 2 at 5 a.m.
  • Corridor Improvement Project between McKnight Way and La Barr Meadows/Allison Ranch Road, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, June 28 to 6 a.m. Monday, June 29 and from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2.

The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of the work and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
