Emma Paton Joins ‘The Athletic FC Podcast’

As the new Premier League season approaches, The Athletic's award-winning flagship football show is back with a new host to bring fans unrivaled analysis and the latest story lines in the world of football.

Emma Paton officially joins The Athletic as lead host of "The Athletic FC Podcast," teaming up with some of football's most respected journalists and insiders - including David Ornstein, Adam Crafton, Matt Slater, James Horncastle and many others - to cut through the noise and take listeners inside the biggest stories across the sport.

Emma brings her expertise to the show following a successful run as co-host of "The Athletic FC Podcast" throughout the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup, during which the show published 33 full episodes reaching over 13 million viewers across YouTube.

Publishing six days a week across audio and video, the podcast will continue to build off the success of its World Cup coverage to deliver breaking news, analysis and reporting from The Athletic's unparalleled football newsroom throughout the season and beyond.

Emma will team up with transfer guru David Ornstein every Tuesday throughout the season to dive into the latest transfer stories, managerial movements and more. Former England goalkeeper Rob Green will join Emma every Monday to dissect the biggest talking points from the weekend.
