I'm thrilled to announce that Veronica de Souza has joined the Audience team as deputy for on-platform audience.
In this role, Veronica will lead audience work in support of owned surfaces like the home page, push alerts, newsletters and email. She'll work closely with newsroom leadership, editors across desks, DIG and our Product partners to identify opportunities to deepen engagement, increase return frequency and help readers build lasting relationships with Times journalism.
Veronica will lead a small but mighty team of editors who already provide audience insights and support to Home and Newsletters: Gordon Hurd (Home) and Karl Delossantos (Newsletters). This group will connect what we learn about our readers and viewers across owned surfaces to the broader Audience organization.
Veronica comes to The Times from Wired, where she was executive director of audience and content strategy. Over the course of her career, she has worked at the intersection of editorial, product and audience at organizations including The Daily Beast, Gawker Media and WNYC/Gothamist.
I worked with Veronica more than a decade ago at Digg, and I'm thrilled to welcome her back as a colleague.
Please join me in welcoming Veronica to The Times!
