USDA Names Trump Administration Appointees to the Kentucky Farm Service Agency State Committee

Lexington, Ky. - Jan. 13, 2026 - The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) today announced the appointment of five leaders in agriculture to serve on the Kentucky USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) state committee.

Members of the FSA state committee are appointed by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins and, in support of the Trump Administration's Farmers First commitment, members of the FSA state committee are responsible for the oversight of farm programs and county committee operations, resolving program delivery appeals from the agriculture community, maintaining cooperative relations with industry stakeholders and keeping producers informed about current FSA programs.

Each FSA state committee is comprised of three to five members including a designated chairperson. The individuals appointed to serve on this committee for Kentucky are:

  • Sharon Walker Furches, Chair (Murray) - Furches is co-owner and operator of a 5,000 acres wheat, canola, rapeseed, corn, and soybean farm. The operation also includes a trucking and grain handling business. She is a licensed grain dealer and previously served as chair of the Kentucky FSA state committee during the first Trump Administration.
  • Tyler Ferguson, Member (Flatgap) - Ferguson is an owner and operator of a farm where he raises commercial cow-calf pairs and mixed grass hay in eastern Kentucky. He is president of the Highlands Beef Cattle Association where he plays an active role in producer representation and regional livestock development.
  • Mark Jenkins, Member (Hopkinsville) - Jenkins is owner and operator of a diversified farming operation that produces canola, corn, soybeans, wheat, and dark tobacco. He also co-owns a greenhouse that specializes in ornamentals and fruit and vegetable seedlings for transplanting.
  • David Andrew Langley, Member (Glendale) - Langley is a corn and soybean farmer from Hardin County. He manages his grain operation with his wife. Langley is a member of the Kentucky Soybean Association and is a longtime member of Severns Valley Baptist Church.
  • Timothy Wayne White, Member (Lexington) - White is owner and operator of a diversified beef cattle operation that includes purebred cattle, commercial breeding cattle and stocker cattle. He is a past regional vice president of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association and served on the environmental stewardship award program selection committee.

"These individuals, selected by Secretary Rollins in partnership with key stakeholders in each state, are held in high regard in the agriculture industry and are entrusted to ensure FSA programs are delivered in a manner consistent with federal farm policy and in the best interest of all agricultural producers in their state," said FSA Administrator Bill Beam. "Their appointment to the FSA state committee is a testament to their standing in the industry and their dedication to the agriculture industry, rural America and President Trump's America First, Farmers First policies."

FSA helps America's farmers, ranchers and forest landowners invest in, improve, protect and expand their agricultural operations through the delivery of agricultural programs for all Americans.
