[Link] PASADENA, Calif.- Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) is now accepting submissions for the all-new 2026 Utility Trade Scholarship, the Educational Scholarship for high school seniors, and the "Being Water Wise Is …" Student Art Contest. As a community-owned utility, PWP takes pride in empowering local youth through educational programs and initiatives with the goal of encouraging environmental stewardship, resource mindfulness, and community investment through creative exploration.
Educational Scholarships
PWP is committed to serving the community and developing the future of the utility industry with annual scholarships. For years, PWP has awarded a scholarship to support students with plans to attend college and other post-secondary institutions. In 2026, PWP expanded this opportunity to feature an all-new utility trade scholarship open to students planning to, or are currently studying, a utility trade at a technical/vocational school or community college. PWP will award a Pasadena resident with a $1,000 scholarship to a vocational/technical school or community college located in Southern California for the 2026-2027 academic year.
In addition to the new Utility Trade Scholarship, PWP is accepting applications for its annual Educational Scholarship for high school seniors. Each year, PWP honors two outstanding high school seniors in Pasadena with a scholarship to a two- or four-year accredited, post-secondary institution for the upcoming academic year. The first-place scholarship is $5,000, and second place is $2,500.
To apply for either scholarship, students must submit a three-to-five-minute video of themselves responding to one of the scholarship prompts. Submissions must be received by March 27, 2026.Learn more about the scholarship program.
