DEC Announces Temporary Closure and Detour for Segment of Adirondack Rail Trail

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation today announced that a segment of the Adirondack Rail Trail bike path will be temporarily closed on Monday, Sept. 29, through Thursday, Oct. 2, with a detour routed north of the Saranac Lake Depot Train Station, along the road and parking area.

The image below shows the detour.

During this time, the DEC contractor will be painting the north side of the Saranac Lake Depot train station, and necessary lift equipment will be on site. The closure is required to ensure public safety while the contractor works on that side of the station. Signs and safety tape will be added to the closure area for the duration of the work.
