Healthy natural ecosystems and thriving producer communities form the backbone of retail supply chains, supporting the production of the food, apparel, and other products we deliver to customers and members

In 2016, Walmart committed to expand and enhance more sustainable sourcing across 20 key commodities through our 20x25 initiative. A decade later, we're sharing our FY2026 Sustainable Commodities Report, reflecting on the progress made, lessons learned, and opportunities ahead.

Over the past decade, our work has focused on fostering more sustainable commodity production, helping conserve high-value landscapes and seascapes, and supporting the well-being of people involved in farming, fishing, ranching, forestry, manufacturing, and other activities across global value chains.

The combination of business action and investments in broader systems is a defining feature of Walmart's 20x25 initiative. Working alongside suppliers and partners, we've strengthened sourcing standards, increased supply chain visibility, supported the adoption of more sustainable practices, and advanced collaborative efforts to address environmental and social challenges.

The report looks back at this work across three key ecosystems: Forests, Grasslands & Freshwater, and Oceans. It highlights how our approaches have evolved, from sourcing standards and certification to stronger traceability, measurement and verification, supplier engagement, and place-based initiatives. It also features examples of Walmart business initiatives and Walmart Foundation-supported work in key sourcing regions.

While progress has varied by commodity and geography, the lessons from 20x25 continue to inform Walmart's broader approach to merchandising for people and planet and our ongoing efforts across these commodity value chains.

We're grateful to the suppliers, producers, associates, and partners who have helped advance this work over the past decade.
