Brasilia, September 25, 2025 - The application deadline for the Educational Program on Health Surveillance in Border Areas (VigiFronteiras-Brazil) has been extended until October 20. The extension broadens opportunities for Brazilian and international professionals who have not yet completed their research proposals or gathered the required documentation for the selection process. The initiative aims to train master's and doctoral-level professionals to work strategically in health surveillance in Brazil's border regions with South American countries.
Launched by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), in partnership with the Secretariat for Health and Environmental Surveillance of Brazil's Ministry of Health (SVSA/MS) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the program is designed for professionals in management, service delivery, and evaluation of health surveillance services, with a special focus on communicable diseases in border areas.
Applications are free of charge and must be submitted through the Acesso Fiocruz platform. Full calls for applications, as well as the updated schedule, are available on Fiocruz's Virtual Campus and on the program's website.
