Public Hearing: Compensation CommissionPost Date:11/03/2025 12:47 PM PUBLIC HEARING COMPENSATION COMMISSION NOVEMBER 19, 2025 6 P.M. The Charles County Compensation Commission will be holding a public hearing on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 6 p.m. to allow the public the opportunity to provide their thoughts and comments on setting compensation for the Charles County Commissioners and several County Boards for the upcoming legislative term. Resolution No. 2025-06, adopted by the Charles County Commissioners on May 6, 2025 established a Compensation Commission, consisting of five members of the public, to set compensation for the Charles County Commissioners (incoming Commissioners effective December 1, 2026), Board of Appeals, Board of Electrical Examiners, Board of License Commissioners (Liquor Board), Planning Commission, Police Accountability Board, Administrative Charging Committee, Animal Matters Hearing Board, Nuisance Abatement Hearing Board and Charles County Orphans' Court Judges. The Compensation Commission may recommend an increase or decrease in compensation, but in no event shall compensation be less than already provided. The Compensation Commission's report shall be submitted to the Commissioners no later than December 1, 2025. Individuals or representatives of groups wishing to make oral or written comments are encouraged to attend the hearing. In-person: Speaker sign-up will begin 30 minutes prior to the hearing at the Charles County Government Building, 200 Baltimore Street, La Plata, Maryland, and will end at the commencement of the hearing.
