The Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, met today, Monday 29 June 2026, with the Defence Minister of Albania, Ermal Nufi, who is conducting an official visit to Greece.
After the two Ministers' private meeting at the Ministry of National Defence, extended talks were conducted between the two Delegations.
During the meetings, the two Ministers expressed their joint volition for the further strengthening of bilateral defence relations and examined cooperation capabilities in the field of Cybersecurity.
Furthermore, Mr Dendias briefed the Albanian Defence Minister regarding the reformation materialisation of the Hellenic Armed Forces with "Agenda 2030". Moreover, regional and international Defence and Security issues were discussed.
From the Greek side, the following individuals attended the talks: the Chief of HNDGS General Dimitrios Choupis, the Chief of HAGS Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of HNGS Vice Admiral Dimitrios - Eleftherios Kataras HN, the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lt General (Pilot) Vasilios Broumas, the General Director of Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA) Major General Ioannis Bouras and the General Director of National Defence Policy & International Relations (GDNDPIR) Ambassador (honorary) Michail Spinellis. Additional attendees from the Albanian side were: the Ambassador of Albania in Greece Luela Hajdaraga, the Commanding General of Cyberdefence Command Brigadier General Hamdi Doda, the Director of the Office of the Defence Minister of Albania Ervis Tema and the Military Advisor to the Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Bardhyl Nuredinaj.
