What is this program? Our non-degree graduate Certificate Program in Pharmacy Practice Outcomes Research, offered through the UT Health Science Center College of Pharmacy, provides education in applied research focused on health outcomes within pharmacy. This one-year, 12-credit, fully asynchronous online program delivers foundational training and skill development for pharmacy and other healthcare professionals. The curriculum emphasizes the population-level effects of health policies, systems, and interventions on health outcomes, focusing on therapeutic outcomes from medication use.
Who are the intended enrollees? This program is developed for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals interested in enhancing their knowledge and skills in health outcomes research related to pharmacy and other healthcare fields.
What are the admission criteria? Individuals are required to have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the United States or its equivalent. Applicants must submit a short personal statement, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and may be invited for a virtual interview. International students from non-English-speaking backgrounds must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or another equivalent test.

These courses are taught by faculty members affiliated with the College of Pharmacy. A student can expect to complete the program in two semesters if the recommended schedule is followed. To receive the certificate in Pharmacy Practice Outcomes Research, a student must achieve a GPA of at least 3.0.
