Update on Shooting Investigation in Thornton, New Hampshire

Concord, NH - Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Thornton Police Department Chief Daniel J. Gilman announce further information related to the shooting investigation in Thornton, New Hampshire.

At approximately 8:20 A.M. on June 8, 2026, officers of the Thornton and Campton Police Departments responded to a residence on Mad River Road in Thornton, New Hampshire in response to a 911 call. On arrival, officers found Leah Anderson (Age: 21) suffering from a wound to her head. Ms. Anderson was transported to the hospital where she received treatment for her injury. Ms. Anderson has since died as a result of that injury.

An autopsy on Leah Anderson is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of the investigation.
