ATLANTA - State Representative Eric Gisler (D-Watkinsville) was recently appointed by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington) to serve on the House Defense and Veterans Affairs, Health, and Intragovernmental Coordination committees for the remainder of the 2025-2026 legislative term.
"I'm honored to serve on the Defense and Veterans Affairs, Health and Intragovernmental Coordination committees for the remainder of this legislative term," said Rep. Gisler. "These assignments provide an important opportunity to support our service members and veterans, strengthen public health systems and improve coordination between state and local governments to better serve Georgians. I'm grateful to Speaker Burns for his confidence in me, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to deliver thoughtful, effective policy for communities across our state."
Rep. Gisler was sworn in on Thursday, January 8, 2026, following a special election to fill the seat of former State Representative Marcus Weidower (R-Watkinsville).

Representative Eric Gisler represents the citizens of District 121, which includes portions of Clarke and Oconee counties. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2025 and currently serves on the Defense and Veterans Affairs, Health, and Intragovernmental Coordination committees.
