On this occasion, Dr Rakovec emphasised the invaluable role of the ICRC in modern armed conflicts and highlighted the excellent cooperation between Slovenia and the ICRC in the field of international humanitarian law. Slovenia appreciates the mission of the ICRC and its commitment to protecting human dignity, and would like to thank the organisation for its close partnership within the framework of the three-year Memorandum of Cooperation and joint activities at international events.

At the meeting, Dr Rakovec presented and handed over to Dr Droege Slovenia's first voluntary report on the implementation of IHL and awareness-raising. By drafting this report, Slovenia has further confirmed its commitment to upholding and promoting international humanitarian law at both national and international levels.
