Atlanta Urban Development Corporation and Dickens Administration Announce Strategic Partnership for Transformative Gun Club Redevelopment

Historic 44-Acre Development to Deliver Mixed-Income Housing and Connect to Proctor Creek Greenway

ATLANTA-The Atlanta Urban Development Corporation (AUD) and the Dickens Administration announced a landmark partnership with Brock Built Homes (BBH), LDG Consulting (LDG), Atlanta Land Trust (ALT) and EQ Housing Advisors for the comprehensive redevelopment of the Gun Club site. This transformative project will deliver a dynamic mix of affordable rental units, for-sale homes, and expansive community amenities, including a multi-use trail and public park across 44 acres.

The Gun Club site is located within a Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative (NRI) priority neighborhood. The NRI is a comprehensive, multi-year effort to strengthen Atlanta's most underserved communities by aligning targeted investment, anti-displacement strategies, and coordinated public-private action to improve quality of life and expand economic opportunity for residents. The development will include the Proctor Creek Greenway, a key component of the TrailsATL network that connects neighborhoods across the city. The site is also located near Boyd Elementary School, making it a priority area for Safe Routes to School initiatives that promote safe walking and biking for students. This proximity supports Atlanta Public Schools' ongoing efforts to foster healthier, more connected neighborhoods for families.

"This groundbreaking partnership exemplifies our vision for inclusive growth and community-centered development," stated Mayor Andre Dickens. "By bringing together best-in-class developers committed to affordability and quality, we are advancing toward our goal of creating and preserving affordable housing while creating a blueprint for how public-private collaboration can transform neighborhoods and expand opportunity for all Atlantans."

Following a rigorous and transparent selection process, AUD has entered into a Redevelopment Agreement that positions the City of Atlanta at the forefront of equitable urban development. With a significant commitment to affordability in both rental and for-sale housing, this project represents a major milestone in addressing Atlanta's housing needs while fostering economic opportunity and community vitality.

"This significant investment represents more than housing-it's about building community, creating pathways to homeownership, and ensuring Atlanta remains accessible to residents across all income levels," saidJohn Majors, President and CEO of AUD. "Our strategic partnership with Brock Built Homes, LDG Consulting, Atlanta Land Trust and EQ Housing Advisors combines proven expertise with a shared commitment to excellence and equity. Together, we're delivering a development that will serve as a model for sustainable, inclusive urban growth."

Horizontal construction is scheduled to commence in early 2027, with Phase 1 incorporating both residential development and critical public infrastructure including trail connectivity and park space. AUD remains committed to ongoing community engagement throughout the development process, ensuring transparency, accountability and alignment with neighborhood priorities.
