MLGW will be performing routine maintenance involving mercaptan on Wednesday, September 3, starting at the Germantown Gate Station (Germantown Parkway and Chimneyrock), next at Collierville Gate Station (Hwy 269 and Hwy 72), then the Airways Gate Station (Airways Blvd and Stateline Rd) and finally at the Weaver Gate Station (Holmes Rd and Stateline Rd).
This routine work will start at 7 a.m. Each station will take two hours to perform this work.
The public in the surrounding area may smell mercaptan in the air. Mercaptan is the chemical odorant that MLGW adds to natural gas to give it the rotten egg/sulfur smell so it can be easily detected. For more information on gas safety, visit mlgw.com/residential/safety.
