Compliance with the global AI governance standard reinforces confidence for the adoption of AI-powered agents, automation, and orchestration across the enterprise
New York, NY - Oct. 27, 2025 - UiPath (NYSE: PATH), a global leader in agentic automation, today announced that it has achieved ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, the world's first international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS). The certification was granted by Schellman, a leading independent accredited certification body known for its rigorous audit standards, following a comprehensive evaluation of the UiPath AI management system, which governs how AI technologies are designed, developed, deployed, and continuously improved across the platform.
ISO/IEC 42001:2023 establishes a global framework for governing the responsible use of artificial intelligence across solutions. It defines how organizations can manage AI securely and transparently across the entire lifecycle-from development to deployment and continuous improvement. As the first international standard dedicated to AI management systems, it reflects the evolving nature of AI and the need for ongoing oversight, accountability, and risk management.
For enterprises, the certification provides independent assurance that UiPath designs and manages AI responsibly. It confirms the rigorous built-in governance in the UiPath Platform™ for agentic automation and orchestration to safeguard data, reduce risk, and help organizations adopt and scale agentic automation with confidence. In particular, the platform has a multi-layer governance framework that protects data, maintains oversight, and enforces compliance across agentic, IT, and infrastructure levels.
This includes the UiPath AI Trust Layer, which unifies key AI governance capabilities and provides centralized controls for model selection, policy enforcement, and privacy protection. It ensures every AI-driven automation is safe, compliant, and transparent. Features such as policy-aware execution, model transparency, and configurable data retention keep AI assistance secure and compliant by design.
Danny Manimbo, AI & ISO Practice Leader at Schellman, said:
"ISO 42001 certification is more than a milestone; it's a public declaration of UiPath's commitment to trust and transparency in AI in advancing the agentic automation space. By aligning their AI management system to the world's first international standard for responsible AI with ISO 42001 certification, UiPath is giving their customers and partners tangible assurance that innovation and accountability can coexist. We're proud to have been part of this journey and to support UiPath as they set a new benchmark for how AI should be governed."
Scott Roberts, Chief Information Security Officer at UiPath, said:
"To realize the full potential of AI, agentic automation must be both transformative and trustworthy. Our customers operate some of the most sensitive and compliance-driven workflows, from fraud detection to financial operations. They need confidence that the trust, security, and governance built into our platform meet the highest global standards.
