Media Advisory: San José Celebrates Building Safety Month with Building Open House

The Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Department celebrates Building Safety Month with its annual Building Open House.

Participants can:

  • Speak with a City building inspector, planner or code inspector about their projects including Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).
  • Walk away with a permit on a qualifying project Pop -Up Permits.
  • Snap a selfie with the San José Fire Department Shark Engine.
  • Learn about home electrification, flood zone information, disaster preparedness, building an ADU, and more.
This is an information-packed event for homeowners, builders, and residents who want to stay informed about city updates and resources.

Exhibitions and partners will be located in the City Hall Rotunda.

Presentations start at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the Council Chambers:
