Victim identified from homicide investigation in the 100 block of West Cache La Poudre

On August 28, 2025, at approximately 8:15 AM, the Colorado Springs Police Department received a call for service regarding a deceased individual in the 100 Block of West Cache La Poudre Street. Officers responded and located a deceased adult male with at least one stab wound.

On August 29, 2025, the El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy on the deceased male and identified him as 48-year-old Daniel Parsons. While the coroner's office will determine the cause and manner of death, this is being investigated as a homicide. A photo of Mr. Parsons is located below.

This was the 24th homicide in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, there were 29 homicides.
